Friends of the Hastings Public Library
Book sale information
Friends' annual book sale runs for three days during the second weekend in July at the City Auditorium, 400 N. Hastings Avenue, in downtown Hastings. More than 50,000 books (10% library withdrawals, 90% donations) will be for sale in addition to magazines sold by the pound, CDs, audio and video tapes, jigsaw puzzles and games. Collectibles dating back to the 1800s and book sets also will also be for sale at special prices. For the most current update, see our Events page.
Each day of the three-day sale has special features:
Friday – 5 to 9 pm; $5 admission charge for early peeks and picks
Saturday – 9 am to 5 pm; Free admission, special activities for children, concessions
Sunday – 12 noon to 4 pm; Bag sale

Friends has an exciting new way to support the library year-round. . . an in-house used bookstore.
In addition to some new merchandise, the shop will have for sale a variety of used books in dozens of categories.
A mini version of Friends’ summer sale, the store will draw from donations from the public to fill its shelves.
Friends has items for sale at the library that make wonderful gifts for the booklover.
